At Selective Casting, we are constantly
meeting new people, attending theatre and showcases
throughout New York - discovering new talent to add
to our existing "river" of actors. How do we
work?
|

Our
clients have come to expect the best talent in the industry. We are
interested in actors with strong training - actors who are passionate
and actors who are extremely professional. But being a professional
isn't just about the fact that you carry a union card. It's about dependability,
punctuality, attitude.

That
professionalism extends right through to your resume. In
addition to listing your professional credits, "Special
Skills" should be highlighted - as long as they are current
and accurate. If you say, for instance, you can juggle, make
sure you can really juggle. Or if you play the sax, make
sure you've picked one up since the third grade. If you
haven't, please don't put it on your resume.
Any
experience with the film or video technology is also important to list
- such as familiarity with teleprompters, ear prompters and as well
as your knowledge of particular industries. Just as important as credits
and skills, however, is you as a person. Our projects are about the
world. They're about human beings. We want real people.

At
Selective Casting, one size doesn't fit all. For this reason,
we prescreen all talent before they are asked to come to an actual casting
session. This pre-screening process is important to both of us. Selective
Casting gets to meet you up-close and personal and you become more
comfortable with us. Because we pre-screen, you can be assured of the
fact that when you are called into one of our casting sessions, your
talent and skills are appropriate for the job being cast.
